The "Hispanic Center" is an educational and cultural organization, which was founded on December 15, 2003, to present the language and culture of the Spanish-speaking world in Armenia.
Our activities are diverse in both educational and cultural areas. We organize Spanish language
courses for both beginners and those who already know the language in order to improve it.
We organize various events: fiestas, concerts, film screenings, festivals, etc.
Why Learn Spanish?

At the “Hispanic Center” our mission is to provide excellent Spanish language training, from beginner to advanced and professional levels, aimed at students from all over the world. We are committed to supporting each individual in their learning process, respecting their pace and
style, through a dynamic, modern and culturally contextualized methodology.
We focus not only on teaching the language but also on transmitting the cultural, historical, and
social richness that surrounds it, developing students capable of communicating effectively in
everyday, academic and work environments.
We have highly qualified specialists whose priority is the comprehensive growth of the student as a Spanish speaker.

Until Now
2003

The "Hispanic Center" is an educational and cultural organization founded on December 15, 2003, with the mission of promoting the language and culture of the Spanish-speaking world in Armenia. It was established by young Armenian economists Ashot Parsyan and Vardan Asryan, in collaboration with Néstor Martínez from Spain, Juan Carlos Flores from Ecuador and Carlos Antaramian from Mexico. Through a variety of educational and cultural programs, the Center brings together enthusiasts of the Spanish language and Hispanic culture.
2004
In April 2004, we organized the first-ever "Spanish and Latin American Film Festival" in Armenia, held at the NPAK (Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art). Later, from February 3 to May 29, 2006, a Spanish film series was hosted at the Moscow Cinema, showcasing several Spanish films without translation.
In May 2009, the Narekatsi Art Institute hosted a Latin American Film Week.
2004
In 2004, under the initiative of the "Hispanic Center", the music group "Son Latino" was formed. The group included two musicians from Colombia and Puerto Rico, primarily performing Caribbean Son music. Their debut concert took place at the Tigran Mets Hall of the Armenia Marriott Hotel.
2004

We presented the live radio show “Tiempo Hispano,” hosted by the Center’s founders Ashot Parsyan and Juan Carlos Flores, in Armenian and Spanish. The project, being the first of its kind, gained wide recognition among people, especially among young people. The program was later renamed “Corazón de Melón” and then “Radiofiesta.”
2005

Since February 2005, we have been organizing Spanish language courses, which consist of different levels, from beginners to the highest level.
2007

In June 2007, we started Latin American folk dance classes with the participation of a dance instructor from Cuba.
2007

From November 1 to December 14, 2007, the “Latin American Cuisine and Music Festival” was held at “The Club” in Yerevan, with the participation of Venezuelan musician Victor Rojas. Latin American representatives of the diplomatic corps in Armenia actively participated in the organization and implementation of the festival.
2008
Considering the great interest of people in another Roman language, Portuguese, in January 2008, at the suggestion of the Brazilian Embassy in Armenia, we started Brazilian Portuguese language courses taught by a specialist from Brazil, Mateus Castello Branco.
2010

In January 2010, at the initiative of the "Hispanic Center", in collaboration with “Zoom Production” and with the support of “Pernod Ricard Armenia”, a large-scale project was implemented, as a result of which the documentary films “Nectar of the Gods” and “Cuba in the Bottle” were shot. The presentations of the films took place at the “Kami” club. The films were broadcast on Public Television, as well as on H2 and ATV TV channels.
2011

In 2011, the second album, “I <3 Latino,” was released, which included songs from various styles: salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton.
2012

In October 2012, we implemented another significant program with our compatriot from Argentina, Valeria Cherekian, a talented tango singer. The concerts took place at “The Club” and at the “Cafesjian Center for the Arts” under the title “Aires de Tango”.

Since 2012, the "Hispanic Center" has been implementing an annual educational program, the "Spanish Scholarship", providing the winners of the competition with the opportunity to receive FREE Spanish language training at our Center.
2013

In 2013, we had a special guest from Colombia: professional dancer Monica Conde, who held a master class at the "Hispanic Center" dance school, passing on
her skills to our students.
2013

In 2013, with the support of Austrian Airlines and Sacvoyage Travel, we held a contest called “I <3 BCN,” in which all interested parties participated and the winner received a free trip to Barcelona.
2014

In 2014, we organized acoustic music evenings with the participation of the talented musician David Rodriguez from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. During the concerts, he performed his own compositions, as well as some songs from the repertoire of famous singers of different times.
2016

In June 2016, at the invitation of the ""Hispanic Center", a Cuban evening was held with the participation of a 9-member group, with live music, dance rhythms, a competition and a master class.
2024

In 2024, the "Hispanic Center" relocated to a new building equipped with all modern amenities to support the growth of its educational and cultural programs. The new facilities include a dedicated studio for film screenings, classrooms for seminars and language courses and various spaces designed for hosting cultural events. This new location fully embodies the Center’s commitment to promoting and advancing the Spanish language and culture.
2021

In April 2021, Ashot Parsyan, the Founder of the "Hispanic Center", was appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Guatemala to Armenia. The Honorary Consulate was opened in Yerevan and is located in the same area as the "Hispanic Center".
2024

On October 23, 2024, the official opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Guatemala in Armenia took place at 52/2 Mashtots Avenue in Yerevan. At the invitation of Honorary Consul Ashot Parsyan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Guatemala to Armenia, Gustavo Adolfo López Calderón, arrived from Moscow to attend the event. The reception was also attended by ambassadors, consuls, members of the diplomatic corps and partners.
2024

From August 2024 to June 2025, a Spanish Film Forum was held at the new studio of the "Hispanic Center" in Armenia, organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain, specifically through the initiative of Chargée d’Affaires a.i. Cristina Conesa Sancho.
Each month, two films were screened to introduce audiences to Spanish cinema. All films were shown in Spanish with English subtitles.
2025

As part of the "Hispanic Center’s" ongoing initiatives, the Spanish restaurant “Olé” opened in Yerevan in August 2025. Located in the heart of the city, within the new building of the "Hispanic Center", it offers an authentic taste of traditional Spanish cuisine.
"Olé" is not just a place to enjoy delicious food — it also serves as a hub for cultural exchange and social gatherings. With its warm and welcoming atmosphere, the restaurant is one of the Center’s cultural projects, hosting themed gastronomic events and experiences.
